The word procrastination originates from Latin, from the word "procrastinatory" which means to postpone, defer or postpone. Its main meaning is the action and the effect of procrastinating.That is, it can be defined as the habit or customs that certain people possess of postponing certain activities, occupations, tasks and situations that must be taken care of at a certain moment, replacing them with less important but more pleasant ones. This habit can originate due to the problematic of the organization and self-regulation of people's time ; so this custom of procrastinating or postponing a decision can be taken as evasive behavior.
Procrastination can be by evasion , for example when a task is avoided for fear of failure, and can originate from a problem of self-esteem; It can also be for indecision , here due to people who are often undecided and have doubts about doing or not doing something, or what to do and here where indecision and get lost thinking about making a decision; and finally by activation , is when an activity is postponed until there is no other activity.
Procrastination can affect different types of people in different fields , it can affect a student who often often postpone studying for their exams and do homework indefinitely, it can also affect housewives as far as household chores are concerned, or even an executive that it postpones a certain meeting for laziness or other reasons on different occasions; but this is becoming more and more serious, since it is a psychological problem that can affect the well-being and mental health, and even the emotional health of an individual.
