Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity of Mexico

In some countries where social and political conflicts are severe and have led to the territory constantly being repudiated by war and violence, movements that advocate peace are born and try to end that state of violence and insecurity.Such is the case of the Movement for Peace with Justice and Dignity originated in 2011 in Mexico.

Due to certain decisions taken by the Mexican government, in its fight against drug trafficking, many reprisals have been generated that have led to a state of uncertainty such to society that it has been necessary for civil society to rise with a slogan that says " Die Better " and that consists of a satire to the one raised by the State in that fight against drug market.

This movement was born in April 2011 and was promoted by the poet Javier Sicilia, who, after suffering the death of his son (killed by individuals who were part of organized crime) gathered all Mexicans to demonstrate against the violence, both of the criminal groups and the one that was carried out by the security forces that depended on the State of Mexico.

Many organizations that fight for the attainment of human rights in Mexican territory and abroad, joined this movement and said adherence concluded with the signing of a national pact against insecurity, signed on June 10 of that year in Ciudad Juarez.Little by little they were approaching the voice of all the settlers, getting the State itself to openly dialogue about the strategy against organized crime and on June 23, 2011 the Dialogue for Peace was held in the castle of Chapultepec.

At that meeting, the state was required to clarify the killings and disappearances, the end of that strategy based on violence and take new measures to combat corruption and impunity and rebuild the damaged social fabric. These demands have not been fully met and the struggle continues between military groups that depend on the State and persons belonging to organized crime and crime.
