What is PIO (programmed input / output)?(What is, Concept and Definition)
PIO , or programmed input/output , is a method of transferring data from one device to another device, using the computer's processor and not memory or DMA.Because PIO modes use the computer processor, using PIO is slower than DMA.
| Mode 0 | 3.3 MB | ATA |
| Mode 1 | 5.2 MB | ATA |
| Mode 2 | 8.3 MB | ATA |
| Mode 3 | 11.1 MB | ATA-2 |
