Annex concept - Definition
The word annex originated etymologically in the Latin word "annexus", which is composed of "ad" that indicates "towards" and "nexus" in the sense of "together".An annex is something that is linked to another thing, which is generally the main one, to which it complements or adds something.
Examples: "This business is a bookstore, but has other annexes, such as toys and haberdashery," "The doctor's office you want to be treated is in the annex, which is adjacent to the clinic" or "Housing it has several main rooms, but in the courtyard other annexes have been built to receive guests.”
It is common that in the books (literary, scientific, artistic, etc.) annexes are added that complete its content.he calls them addenda.Examples: "In the annex of the work the new advances in the matter that appeared after the original publication have been placed", "In the annex a faith of errata has been included" or "Search in the annex of the book and you will find practical cases that complement the theory and help to understand it.”
