Concession definition - What it is, Meaning and Concept

Concession , from Latin concessio , is a concept related to the verb grant (yield, consent, allow, endorse).it is used when recular in an attitude or decision made.

For example: "I'm going to make a concession: tonight you can sleep here, but tomorrow you have to go out to find a roof ”, “ I'm asking for a concession: let me make this trip and, on the way back, I dedicate myself fully to the studio ”, “ I don't plan to make any concessions since it has cost me a lot to get to this place ”.

This concept also refers to one of the Rhetorical Figures whose purpose is to offer an undercover argument; that is to say, to use a phrase that must be contextualized in order to be understood, since its true meaning is opposite to what is believed at first glance.

Poets often use it to give greater credibility to their arguments.he uses irony and picaresque to gain meaning and for the reader to understand it, it is necessary to analyze it carefully in order to discover the hidden message that the author wanted to put.

Administrative concession

Finally, it is known as an administrative concession to the environment created by modern States to establish relations with different institutions in order to offer the people a series of activities or the exploitation of certain resources of the State to individuals, so that these are responsible for organizing, maintaining and developing.

It is usually a good alternative for these times of crisis in which the municipalities do not have the economic and technological conditions to exploit these spaces.In this relationship, institutions or private companies undertake to carry out the work safely and giving back to the State for said loan.

According to specialists, it is one of the best alternatives to promote national wealth and direct economic resources to effective development plans.

There are many types of concessions.They can be of authorization (an agreement of a judicial nature through which a person assumes the power to exercise a certain function whose purpose is an effect in the civil community), of permission (an authorization which gives the authority to a competent party to do a certain thing) and license (an administrative authorization through which the State provides the possibility for a person to develop a certain activity, after verifying the invulnerability of its facilities and of make sure that this activity will not have harmful consequences for the community).

It is necessary then to point out that:

* A concession is the permission granted to make use of a right for the exploitation of services or goods for a certain period of time.The concession can be granted by one company to another or by the Government to a private firm.

In this sense, the concession may be the permission to market or administer products in a certain territory: "I have the concession to distribute the NBA products in this city" , "I'm trying to get a concession to sell clothes of foreign brands" , "A man will be brought to trial for marketing Disney creations without a concession" .

* The concession is, on the other hand, the legal business through which the State gives to a company or individual powers for the use of a public domain membership or for the exploitation of a public service under certain clauses: "The Spanish company has obtained the concession of the roads and highways of the city for the next twenty years" , "The president threatened to cancel the concession if the company don't lower rates ”.

It is worth mentioning, finally, that in order to carry out any of them, a contract is required, clearly specifying the right of the person to practice his profession or develop his activity in a certain place.
