Meaning of Reading Report (What is it, Concept and Definition)
What is Reading Report:
A reading report is a report that reflects the general impressions and the most relevant aspects of a read text , which can be of an informative, literary, scientific or informative nature.
The reading report is written after reading the text in question. It is prepared by briefly describing its thematic and summarizing the most important ideas, and ends with a brief conclusion.Additionally, a personal opinion can be included.
It must be written in a coherent way and in a clear and simple language.Unlike the summary, which implies the faithful exposition of the most relevant points of a writing , the reading report offers more freedoms, such as paraphrasing the main text or adding personal positions.
The main objective of the reading report is to show that it has been read and understood effectively and fully the text.
In addition, it is very useful as study technique for the student, since its elaboration helps the reader to fix the ideas, knowledge and impressions of the text he has just read
For the teacher, on the other hand , the reading report allows to verify if the student read and understood the text, and, in this sense, to evaluate his level of reading comprehension.
The importance of the reading report lies in the value of the reading in the learning process.Reading offers a wealth of knowledge and tools, increases lexicon and improves our ability to express our ideas correctly, precisely and pertinently.
