What is lost adolescence? »Its Definition and Meaning [2019]

In life, human beings go through different phases or cycles, childhood, adolescence, adulthood and old age .In each of them, the man Learn something new that helps him in his process of maturation. From the stages mentioned above, adolescence has been one of the most important, since in this phase the person presents many changes especially to level of identity.

The young person or the young adolescent, unlike children, tends to get away a little from their parents, because this way they can emphasize your own point of view, defend your convictions and live independently, even if you are not yet ready enough, at maturity level, to be completely free .

At this stage, young people need a lot of protection and care from their parents; however, they must constantly face an internal battle between respect for the authority figure and the desire for freedom. This is why the teenager seeks the support of his friends and with whom he is fully identified.

Even though it is believed that adolescence is the happiest stage of the person, it is also true that during it, many young people go through hard times, they usually go through identity crisis , physical complexes appear, they feel pressure at the academic level, they are not sure what they want for their future , etc.

But, really What does "lost adolescence" mean? well, it cannot be said that adolescence was a lost stage, because it must be remembered that every cycle through which a person passes, leaves a experience and therefore , an apprenticeship. Now, it can be said that a person loses his adolescence, when due to life circumstances, he must assume a different role from his own.For example, when a young woman dies her parents and she must take care of her younger brothers. It may seem like a story taken from a pink soap opera, but it can happen. The truth is that in that case, the young woman will have to assume the role of adult and work to power keeping herself and supporting her siblings, thus losing her adolescence.

Another very frequent case occurs when the young woman becomes pregnant, this being a radical change that will modify her entire life , since it implies having to take care of another being and assume responsibility for adu ltos, before time .This has been one of the most common cases in today's society.Even in the cinema, a film that touches the issue of pregnancies was projected on young people in full adolescence and which bears name "Lost Adolescence."

These examples reflect, as at certain times, adolescents for various reasons, lose certain practices, typical of their age, to assume others that are very different from their stage, however, adolescence is not lost as such, since something lived will always get something positive and that is what should really be valued.
