The ovule is an reproductive cell, egg-shaped, located in the ovaries of women and mammals, capable of being fertilized by a sperm giving rise to a zygote.
In 1827, the ovules were discovered by the biologist Karl Erns Von Baer.The word ovule is of Latin origin "ovŭlum" originates from the diminutive of ovum which means "hollow".
